I’ll take ‘80s Teen Pop Idols for 500, Alex

My husband is making fun of me. We’re watching ER, and he made some crack about what was Blackie’s last name anyway? Parrish, I said immediately, because apparently that vital fact is buried deep in my brain, along with the ‘80s song lyrics that are possibly responsible for my inability to learn calculus. John (my husband, not the man who was Uncle Jesse) thinks this is hysterical for some reason.

Perhaps he thinks it is evidence of some long-held crush on John Stamos. It isn’t. If forced to choose between soap opera generated pop stars, I’d have to say I was really more of a Rick Springfield fan. Interestingly enough, I cannot remember his character’s name, but I do believe he was a doctor.

What useless fact is taking up space in your brain?

ok, so most of what you are talking about I don't understand. I have no idea what all the tv references are. Then you mention Rick Springfield and GH (which I watched as a kid in 4th?? grade), and I'm like "oh, Noah Drake of course"
I am a looooooooser.
Can't remember important patient information, but I'll be damned if I ever forget Rick Springfield's character on a soap opera!!!!!!!

I can recite the county's in the state of Alabama in alphabetical order which is how they appear on car tags. If you know this order, you can determine where someone is from simply by their tag...useless I tell you useless!

The ocd in me also memorizes cartags and can recall when and where I saw them for several days. I once helped a friend and her mom find her sister who had run away. I remember seeing the tag number at a McD's and when they got there, the car was still there...she was gone but they did find her from that. Anyway...useless

You seem to be implying that I have but one useless fact. In fact, I have many. Like, I can provide a link between 80s popsters Genesis and heavy metal act Iron Maiden in about 20 seconds in a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon kind of way. That's scary.

All the lyrics to Ice Ice Baby.

Coelacanth - an ancient fish, thought to be extinct, caught of the coast of Madagascar in the late 90's.

I can remember that. But can I remember my password for my online bank account? Um. No. I have to look it up. Every. Time. Drr.
